Whitney Houston's impact on the world of music is undeniable, and while the first thing you think of when you hear Whitney's name is probably that voice, the musician was also a beauty icon in her own right. The voluminous "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" bouncy blonde curls, the wavy bobs, the red lipstick, and the '90s diva eyes … I mean, come on!

MAC Cosmetics is releasing a limited-edition makeup line with products and shades inspired by Houston's signature glam; the brand worked with her estate to ensure each product was true to Houston's beauty preferences. "Whitney was always a champion of women feeling beautiful, whether it was a major event or just for everyday wear," Pat Houston, executor of the Estate of Whitney E. Houston, shared in a press release about the collaboration. "Our work with MAC is about creating a line that can meet all of those needs. The line will be true to the eye and lip colors that she loved to work with." MAC has worked with many celebrity estates before, most notably on two Selena-inspired collections.
The collection includes 11 products housed in metallic gold packaging, all designed to pay homage to Whitney and her decades of beauty influence. Most of the products include the name "Nippy," Whitney's childhood nickname.
Choose from MAC's bestselling lipstick formulas in Houston-inspired shades, such as Nippy's Moody Nude, a Cremesheen brown pink-beige; Nippy's Rose, a pearly coral-pink in the Frost formula; Nippy's Feisty Red, an Amplified brick red; and Nippy's Sensual Red, a deep plum-red Matte. "Whitney loved working with colors on the lips and eyes – that iconic red lip was always a favorite of hers," said Pat.
Top your lipstick of choice with a Lipglass in gold sparkle or brick copper sparkle for an award-winning look, or add a radiant glow to your skin with Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Just Whitney, a golden bronze. To enhance your eyes, Whitney's Nippy Eye-Conic Palette features eight shades for a subtle everyday look or a red carpet smoky eye. The collab also includes mascara and blush to finish off your beauty routine with major star power, plus a mirrored gold clutch bag to store your products when you're onstage. The MAC X Whitney Houston collection retails for $20 to $44 and drops on December 8 on maccosemtics.com, in MAC stores, and at Macy's.
