Description

Discover the Chavonnes lake. This lake, which is ideal for swimming and fishing, is a popular stop on this walk.

You can reach the start of this hike by taking the cogwheel train from Villars to the terminus: Bretaye. The view of the Vaud Alps and Mont Blanc along the way and on arrival will delight all lovers of Alpine landscapes. You then cross the hamlet of Bretaye and pass close to the lake of the same name, so don't hesitate to walk around it (about 20 minutes). The next part of the walk takes you to the Lac Noir, which you leave on your right, then reach the Lac des Chavonnes at the end of a wide path. After admiring the different colours of this alpine lake, you follow the small path that passes between the lake and the restaurant. You will have a completely different view of the lake. Continue uphill in the direction of Vy Boveyre. At the crossroads, follow the direction of Conche and pass by the chairlift which, in winter, provides the link between the ski areas of Villars and Les Diablerets. You go back down towards the Lac Noir and then reach the starting point: Bretaye. The more athletic can walk to Villars. The others can take the train back to Villars.
