Marta Magdalena Stepien is one of Angelopedia’s Top 20 favourite contestants competing for the crown of Miss Universe 2018. The 24-year-old beauty was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2018 during the grand finale of the event held on 18th August 2018 at The George Weston Recital Hall – Toronto Centre For The Arts, Toronto.

Defeating 59 other contestants from all over Canada, Marta managed to bag the crown and earn her soft in Miss Universe this year. From Windsor, this 178 cm tall beauty is currently a student of Biomedical Engineering Technology at St. Clair College and is also her love for STEM has given her opportunities to work as an applied researcher there.

Marta has a passion for giving back to the community, which is why she is an ambassador for Le Petit Écolière – a Toronto based company that works with Plan Canada and Plan International to provide means of education to young girls.

This Canadian diva is multilingual with the ability to speak fluently in French, Polish, German and English languages. Marta is also a model by profession and has been in the industry since she was 14 years of age and has worked with many famous brands and has travelled around the world due to her career.

She is no stranger to the pageant world as she was the first Runner-up Miss Universe Canada 2017 and earned her right to represent Canada in Miss International 2017. After her stint at one of the Big 4 pageants, Marta was also a contestant in Reinado Internacional del Café 2018 as the representative of Canada. The finale of the event was held on Colombia and she was awarded the position of Virreina to the winner of the title.

It is astonishing how Marta has managed to handle so many things and still has the time to give back to the community. She is determined to help and empower young women and girls who come from a similar background as hers. Her childhood comprised of low income, a single parent, and her troubled identity as an immigrant. Marta will surely bring back the crown to Canada after 13 years!
