Lake Viverone
Lake Viverone, whose waters have yielded pile dwellings dating back to the Bronze Age, is located at the meeting point of the three provinces of Biella, Turin and Vercelli; with its 55 square kilometres it is the largest lake basin within the large morainic amphitheatre of Ivrea. On the one hand, the shores offer welcoming accommodation and peaceful walks; on the other, its wilder banks, rich in reeds, are of great ornithological interest due to the number and variety of species that find refuge there for wintering and nesting, and are an ideal place for birdwatching.
Location: Viverone (Viverone, Serra and Bessa)
