Echo Lake is located near the southern borders of Minnesota's beautiful Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, a wilderness area of over one-million acres renowned for its excellent canoeing and fishing. The forests that surround the lake are full of thick pine, fir, spruce, cedar, aspen and maple trees. This is a descent fishing lake with a variety of different fish species including Trout, Golden Shiner, White Sucker and Perch. Animals indigenous to the area include moose, beaver, bears, bobcats, bald eagles, wolves and peregrine falcons.
