Why stay here ...

A quiet, secluded site in the parkland of an old house called Elkington Hall which was built in 1842 by William Smyth, whose family can be traced back to the 14th century. The house was a large, rather plain building, its most notable feature being its tower. It was demolished in 1960's. This CL now offers a spacious site, with well-tended level and grassy pitches.  Hard-standing pitches are also available.

Set in the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB), a place of rolling chalk hills, hidden valleys and fine views.

Louth, known as the capital of the Wolds, is a charming market town with narrow winding streets, old inns, splendid Georgian houses and St James Church which provides a backdrop to this popular town. It is also famous for its butchers, Lincolnshire sausage, stuffed chine, and pork pies. Louth has a market every Wednesday and Saturday and offers a variety of entertainment at the Playgoers Riverhead Theatre and the Playhouse Cinema.

If you enjoy walking there are plenty of dog friendly walks from the site (leaflet in the hut), and Louth is 2.5 miles away across the fields or on the pavement.

Will be back

Estate Office CL
Our first visit won’t be the last. At the third attempt we found the cl. The locals were very helpful, it’s was just that the signs weren’t where we were looking for them so took wrong turns. A lovely site where you really are left alone. Well managed with lots of options for pitching. Lots of parkland walks and a few minutes from Louth. Surprised it was so busy in mid September. Only negatives were down to a lot of traffic noise and adjacent ‘doggy day care’ where dogs seemed to be allowed to fight and bark for several minutes before being attended to.

We only stayed for 1 night, hope to stop for longer next time. Beautifully laid out and really well cared for. Nice and quiet, good for the dog.

It's Just Perfect

Estate Office CL
We have been to this site many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. Since Covid its been our saviour, giving us a chance to get out and about without risking the crowds. The site is to say the least spacious so anyone wanting privacy has a choice of places to set up their caravan, however family groups can also set up not too far from each other. The site has everything we need, glorious surroundings, fabulous off site walks, a lake to relax by, wildlife everywhere and the lovely market town of Louth a 5 minute drive away. Our grand children love the space to play and relax in the fresh air, they love the walks exploring the lovely park land and village of South Elkington. As the title suggests "It's Just Perfect"

8 night stay

Estate Office CL
Having just stayed at this site for the last 8 nights i can say it is a gem. A credit to the owners this site is very well kept with the grass being cut & collected, all very neat. There are many walks from the site which we found most welcome. We walked into Louth (2.5 mile) on a couple of occasions, there are many footpath routes of which there are maps provided. This is the first time we have used the site, no doubt that we will be here again in the near future.

beautiful site

Estate Office CL
This is a site we have visited many times . It is beautifully kept , the grass is well mowed and there is recycling and a useful information shed with books to borrow , walks and the history of the site . You can even get your daily paper delivered ! The site is lovely and spacious so there is no problem being too close to other caravans .It is away from the road so safe for children - our grandsons loved it . There are many walks from the site over farmland with wonderful views over the wolds and the church in the village is well worth a visit. Louth is a 5 minute drive and a very interesting town with all the facilities you need for a comfortable caravanning holiday . We shall be back !
