Miguel Diaz

Living… in an apartment complex in the San Fernando Valley in LA with his mom. Miguel’s life takes a turn for the better when he discovers that his neighbor is Johnny Lawrence, two-time winner of the All-Valley Karate Tournament and starfighter of Cobra Kai.

Profession… student at West Valley High School. Miguel struggles to get through the day without being overshadowed, made fun of, or physically hurt by the school bullies. 

Interests… listening to 80’s rock and learning karate. Miguel knows he needs Johnny’s help with karate to fight back against school bullies, but Johnny just might need him, too. Miguel is helping Johnny open a karate studio named Cobra Kai.

Relationship Status… single. He’s starting to develop feelings for Samantha LaRusso, daughter of Johnny’s longtime rival Daniel LaRusso, much to Johnny’s chagrin.

Challenges… standing up for himself and his friends. Although Miguel lacks nothing in spirit or bravery, his physical prowess is quite deficient. Through karate, he’s becoming stronger. As he says, “Karate is about inner strength. It’s about confidence. Lessons you can use for the rest of your life.”

Personality… kind, funny, and compassionate, but still naïve. Miguel often lets his emotions drive his actions. As he develops his strength, Miguel struggles to balance his honorable character and his thirst for vengeance.
