In case you’re wondering (which you are if you ended up here 👋), Doja Cat is a millionaire who’s legit been making money since she was a teenager dropping music on SoundCloud. After signing a record deal at just 17 while the rest of us (me) were making $5 per week mowing neighbors’ lawns, the singer released multiple chart-topping albums and had several songs go absolutely viral on TikTok. Obviously, though, no song hit it bigger than “Say So,” Doja Cat’s first Top 10 single on the Hot 100 list, which earned her multiple (!!) Grammy nominations.

The success of “Say So” was already enough to make the Grammy Award winner (!!) a millionaire, but now she’s out here releasing hit after hit—including major collaborations with artists like Nicki Minaj, SZA, Ariana Grande, and Saweetie—and on soundtracks for major feature films. On that note, quick break to enjoy this:

Speaking of Doja Cat’s collaborations, she told Cosmopolitan Middle East that she’s all about other female rappers finding success:

“I don’t really ever consider artists to be ‘in the way.’ I don’t see them as competition because I just have fun doing it. With rap and hip-hop, you have trillions of male rappers; I’ve actually lost count of how many male rappers there are. Then you have female rappers and there are less than 600 of us, so comparisons are always going to happen, it’s completely natural and I accept it. I appreciate it a lot when I’m compared to Nicki, I think it’s cool. I look up to a lot of people who came before me. But there’s no competition, the music industry just needs more female artists.”

Let’s get into the $$$ of it all.

Doja Cat Earned $25 Million in 2021

In 2021, Doja was literally everywhere—like, it was impossible to not hear her songs on TikTok, the radio, and even in TV shows and movies. Then, in early 2022, former Forbes journalist Zack O’Malley Greenburg published a list of 2021’s top hip-hop earners in Vibe, and noted that Doja Cat (the only woman on the list, because the pay gap is too real 🥴) earned $25 million thanks to a “thriving international presence and partnerships with brands from Pepsi to CandyCrush.”

The magazine also included a quote from Adriana Arce, vice president at artist management firm Rebel, in which she explained that Doja’s success in part comes because she is “unapologetically self-expressed and the world loves her for it. Hip-hop has always defined culture. Culture shapes the world’s consumer habits. Brands need culture to survive.”

The Grammy winner also collaborated with online clothing retailer Pretty Little Thing and beauty brand BH Cosmetics in 2021, which likely earned her a decent chunk of change. That same year, she hosted the MTV Video Music Awards, and while her exact salary hasn't been revealed, The Hollywood Reporter previously reported that Oscars hosting fees range from $15,000 to $25,000. It's possible that Doja earned a similar amount as she hosted *and* performed at the awards ceremony (ya know, the same one where she dressed as a worm and such).

In 2022, Doja also released her own clothing line, It's Giving, which included Y2K-inspired designs and silhouettes with trucker hats, crop tops, thongs, and jock straps. Product prices in one of her more recent drops ranged from $10 to $120.

Meanwhile, Forbes reported that Planet Her was the 10th biggest album in the world in 2021, which probs (def) continues to contribute to the artist’s total $$$$. With her new album Scarlet officially out and more viral hits to come, Doja will no doubt keep on raking in the dough—especially because she's also continuing to headline her own tour with Ice Spice and Doechii this year.

So What Is Doja Cat’s Net Worth, Exactly?

That’d be $12 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. It’s possible this number hasn’t been updated with 2024’s full earnings in mind, but it’s actually common for there to be a pretty big discrepancy between net worth and earned income thanks to taxes, overhead, and massive expenses that come with being famous (think security, private planes, staff, etc.). Either way, Doja Cat’s net worth has definitely increased because back in September 2021, Celebrity Net Worth estimated her assets were more like $4 million, and in 2022, that number doubled to $8 million. And speaking of assets…

She Had $2.2 Million Tied Up in Real Estate

Doja Cat bought her first home in 2021 for $2.2 million, and if you want an idea of how fancy the zip code is, it’s located in Beverly Hills. Here’s a cute vid of the interior for all you nosy people (same) out there:

Interesting to note, however, is that the celeb moved out in the summer of 2022 and listed the property for $2.5 million, which means she still managed to rake in some funds from the investment.

Congrats on all the money, Doja Cat! *avoids looking at my bank account at all costs*
