TRYING to raise £395 to be able to do a charity skydive later this month is 17 years-old Alby Thatcher who lives in Yeoford.

Alby’s problem with fundraising is that because he is working at Ikea in Exeter, travelling by train and bus, he does not have a lot of time to organise fundraising events.

A former Queen Elizabeth’s School student, he has a justgiving page and is about half way towards his goal.  Alby is the son of Jim and Donna, they have lived in Yeoford for five years.

Alby is doing the jump to raise funds for Devon Air Ambulance.

His idea to do one came when his sister did a skydive two years ago for charity.  He and the rest of the family went to Dunkeswell to watch - and Alby was hooked.

He says he is “Ok” with heights and has done some flying.

He chose DAA because one of his friends was involved in a motor bike accident and was picked up by the air ambulance.  “It does such a good job and helped him recover well, so I’d like to do something to help raise funds,” said Alby.
