San Martino in Pensilis

San Martino in Pensilis is an Italian town in the province of Campobasso in Molise. The historic center of the village is located on a hill, at an altitude of 281 m a.s.l. The hill is partly overhanging and very steep towards the south and west sides. The inhabited area extends along the north-west side, less steep and eastwards, along the steep southern side, for a few hundred meters and then folds towards the south and again towards the east.

The natural borders of the territory of the municipality are represented by the Saccione torrent towards the east and the Biferno river towards the northwest. The Cigno torrent, a tributary of the Biferno, crosses the territory and has a much greater flow than the Saccione. Other minor streams are the "vallone Reale" and the "vallone Sassani" (left tributaries of the Saccione).

In the surrounding hilly countryside wheat, beets, sunflowers are grown and there are also vineyards but above all olive trees. Of the woodland there are still some spots, of the "Ramitelli forest", which extended along the whole course of the Saccione, from the sea to Rotello. This area also known as the buffalo.
