Pangasinan ARBOs receive farm machineries from DAR

STA. MARIA, Pangasinan – A total of P13.5 million worth of farm machineries were recently handed over by the Department of Agrarian Reform to various Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations in the province of Pangasinan.

The turnover ceremony was facilitated at the Agrarian Reform Information and Marketing Center in Barangay Pilar, Sta. Maria town on Friday, July 6.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Maria Ana B. Francisco said 16 farm machineries were formally turned over to 15 ARBOs that were carefully selected by sector representatives of DAR Pangasinan.

Franciso said recipient ARBOs were selected based on their maturity rating and ability to manage farm machineries, rental business, magnitude and the magnitude of members who will benefit from the project.

“It is, therefore, necessary that the ARBOs should understand and be aware of their responsibilities,” she pointed out.

Francisco also encouraged the members of cooperatives in the area to be diligent in convincing farmers, especially agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) to become members of farm cooperatives.

A total of seven 4-wheel drive tractors with 35-horsepower implements, two hand tractors and two combine harvester DC-60 worth P10,360,000.00 were released during the distribution that was funded under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS).

Another three 4-wheel drive tractors 35-horsepower implements and two water pumps worth P3,180,000.00 were also distributed that were funded under the Climate Resiliency Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPS).

Francisco said two hand tractors were also handed over to Basing Farmers Irrigators and Livestock Raisers Association, Inc. in Brgy. Basing, Lingayen and Sto. Domingo MPC that are based Brgy. Sto. Domingo, San Manuel.

Members of the Bayanihan Hundred Island Agrarian Reform Cooperative in Brgy. Linmansangan, Alaminos City and Lambayan MPC in Brgy. Poblacion, Mapandan also received combined harvesters DC-60.

Ten 4-wheel drive tractors with 35-horsepower implements were also given to ten ARBOs, to include the Cabarruyan Agrarian Reform Cooperative in Brgy. Poblacion, Anda, Guelew MPC in Brgy. Guelew, San Carlos City, Taloy Guilig Women & Farmers Agrarian Reform Cooperative in Brgy. Tempra Guilig, San Fabian, San Pedro Apartado MPC in Brgy. San Apartado, Alcala, Maganda Buhay Agrarian Reform Cooperative in Brgy. Labuan, San Quintin, Kristine Heart MPC in Brgy. Labuan, Umingan, Albacopa Federation of Cooperative in Brgy. Pilar, Sta. Maria, Doliman Multipurpose Cooperative in Brgy. Doliman, Infanta, Brgy. Diaz Farmers’ Association in Brgy. Diaz, Bautista and Golden Farms Agrarian Reform Cooperative in Brgy. Mantacdang, San Quintin, all in Pangasinan.

Two water pumps were given to Artacho Farmers’Association In Brgy. Artacho, Bautista.

Ranilo Padilla, the Chief Operating Officer of Albacopa Federation of Cooperatives was thankful for DAR’s effort in providing these farm implements that will increase farm productivity and will benefit farmer-members of the ARBOs.

The common service facilities (CSF) distribution was also witnessed by top provincial officials of Pangasinan led by 6th district Board Member Atty. Noel C. Bince.
