Rapper, actor and producer Ice Cube announced on "The Talk" Friday that he hopes to get tongues wagging with a reunion of his iconic crew from the summer film hit, "Straight Outta Compton," at Coachella.

"I'm gonna try to bring the members of N.W.A together. Give everybody a little history lesson," he said on the morning talk show.

Could NWA reunite for Coachella 2016?

N.W.A., which was recently voted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame, disbanded after the death of founding member Eazy-E in 1995. The band's producer, Dr. Dre, created one of the most talked about reunions in Coachella history with his appearance with Snoop Dogg, Eminem and a hologram image of Tupac Shakur at the 2012 Coachella. Another surviving member of the group, MC Ren, lives in Palm Springs, but has declined interview requests from The Desert Sun.

Ice Cube is the second-billed Saturday act at this April's two-weekend Coachella fest in Indio, behind the reunion of Guns N' Roses. But Cube is the highest billed rapper in the festival, which has featured a hip-hop headliner since Jay Z played Coachella in 2010.
