A first-look trailer for Game of Thrones star Thomas Brodie-Sangster's new Artful Dodger series has been released.

The upcoming Disney+ series sees the actor play the role of the iconic Charles Dickens character after the events of Oliver Twist, where he now lives a double life in Australia while working as a surgeon.

The first teaser gives a glimpse at the antics to come, as Dodger is questioned about his mysterious past in his new surroundings.

"My thievery has been very occasional," he notes at one point, clearly struggling to break away from his past as a pickpocket, while also crossing paths with Fagin (Harry Potter's David Thewlis), who has returned to try and bring him back to the criminal world.

The show has been called "an irreverent follow-up to Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist exploring the adult double life of the famous prince of thieves", which will take fans "from high-octane heists to life-and-death surgeries, glittering parties to colourful streets".
