About this property

How do three acres of gardens and grounds set in the most relaxing and charming valley sound?!

Highbeck is a spacious property for a small family or close friends to get together and spend quality time in the very most peaceful and attractive of surroundings. Close to the attractions of Bowness, you really have the best of both worlds here!

Large feature windows really make the most of the stunning outlook of Highbeck. It's an impressive wall of glass in the living-room here, and the views are more than worthy of it, stretching out over the fresh and fertile Lyth Valley.

The hedgerows round here are chock full of sloes and brambles come the summer, and the valley is justly famous for its harvest of damsons, from which a fine array of wines, desserts and preserves are produced.

Attached to Highbeck Cottage, Highbeck is a wonderful place to forget about daily cares. The comfortable furnishings and luxuriant leather sofas combine with the old-world charm of the country kitchen and range, the old oak beams, and the slate floors to help you slip effortlessly into holiday mode.

You are just a short and pleasant wander away from the pretty village of Crosthwaite and the award-winning Punchbowl Inn. Enjoy meals out in this fabulous gastro-pub, before returning to Highbeck for a glass of wine on the patio. The large terrace and gardens give a wonderful outside space for when the sun shines.

Crosthwaite is a small village set in the picturesque Lyth Valley, famous for its damson trees, and boasts a lovely pub known nationally for its excellent food. The lakeside towns of Windermere and Bowness are nearby, with plenty of activities, interest and entertainment for all ages. Also within easy reach is the popular market town of Kendal, an historic Lakeland town with a fine reputation for shopping. Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden, are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay.
