'Fortnite' X 'Major Lazer' Skins And Cosmetics Leaked Online

This article is more than 4 years old.

I suppose it illustrates just how out-of-touch I am with all things young and hip (other than Fortnite) that I didn't even know anything about Major Lazer until today.

Admittedly, this was the case when Fortnite did a crossover with Marshmello earlier this year—a rather spectacular event, to say the least. I am not much into the electronic music scene, I suppose, but I like what Fortnite has done so far.

Major Lazer, it turns out, is an electronic music group currently comprised of Diplo, Walshy Fire and Ape Drums. They're on the Secretly Canadian label which just so happens to also be home to one of my very favorite musicians of all time, Alex Cameron.

In any case, there's some kind of crossover between the electronic music group Major Lazer and Fortnite beginning later today. It looks like it's just cosmetics and music for sale rather than a live show or new challenges or modes (alas) but the cosmetics themselves look pretty sweet. There are two music tracks that we can't listen to in the following list, but all of this should be available at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET today so we'll know what they sound like then.

Here are all the leaked Fortnite X Major Lazer cosmetics:

Major Lazer Skin (Epic) - Peace is the mission.

Lazer Wing Back Bling (Epic) - Free the universe.

Lazer Axe Pickaxe (Rare) - Music is the weapon.

Default Vibe Music (Rare) - Lazerism Remix by Major Lazer.

Default Fire Music (Rare) - Lazerism Remix by Major Lazer.

Lazer Blast Emote (Rare) - Major moves.

Lazer Flex Emote (Uncommon) - Armed and dangerous.

Swing by the Fortnite Item Shop to see these. No doubt they will—like every other cosmetic in this game—be extremely overpriced. But that's going to be the case until people stop buying the game's cosmetics. As it stands, Epic has no reason to offer cheaper goods in the Item Shop, and I can't blame them.
