Common Allier important region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Domérat takes place west of Montlucon, more than eighty kilometers from Moulins. It is located near Huriel, Archignat and Desertines.
Occupied since the Gallo-Roman, as evidenced by the presence of many Roman roads, the territory of Domérat was originally an accumulation of small villages before becoming the great city we know today. Located in a hinge region between different peoples, the town grew under the influence of all these diverse cultures that now make it unique. Important place of wine culture in the Middle Ages, it will remain strongly marked by its agricultural activity in the eighteenth and nineteenth century.
