Geograph - photograph every grid square

I lived in Holt until I was about 8 or 9 before moving to Melksham. I remember several of the places captured here. The pub with the 3 lion sculpture on it was rather unsurprisingly call ed The Three Lions and the Superstore opposite was a Co-op. I remember being given a bread token by my grandmother who lived at 366 The Street (pictured here and called Rose Cottage) to go and fetch a loaf of bread from the co-op. They used to have a huge red meat slicer in the shop (probably not so huge as I remember.

The generic description of Holt is of it now being a commuter village for the nearby towns, but throughout the 1960's my grandfather travelled by works bus to Westinghouse in Chippenham where he was a lathe operator.
