An award winning hair salon in Surrey has moved premises and now resides in an old bank in Knaphill. The former Lloyds branch on the outskirts of Woking has been transformed into a beautiful, light and airy salon, and inside is utterly unrecognisable.
Locals will be amazed at just how different the building is after doors to the bank closed for the last time in winter 2019 after a number of branches shut following a nationwide closure due to a shift in people's banking habits. Customers at the new-look Sorella hair salon can expect a super stylish, yet organic and natural vibe with different zones for washing hair, colouring, cutting and styling.
Sorella, which translates to Sister, is an independent salon run by award winning hairdresser Lucy Mitchell, alongside her sister, Jo Moulton. It has been operating for nearly six years in Knaphill and moved into the new salon this July with a launch opening party for locals and clients on Friday, July 28 with goody bags, giveaways and prizes.

The gorgeous new base is three times the size of the old one, with triple the staff and is literally just over the road from the old salon. Located in the heart of the village, the new salon is next to Co-op supermarket and there is free parking directly behind making it very accessible.
What to expect
Even though the salon is incredibly modern with fabulous mirrors, pendants and spotlights, it is very welcoming and comfortable. Plants are dotted throughout the building, there are lots of wooden and natural furniture and there is an eco-friendly ethos oozing through the walls.
A huge wooden table takes centre stage inside, where clients can pick up a magazine, enjoy a hot or cold drink with some biscuits and have their hair coloured. Refreshments are served on an adorable tray and are topped up through your visit.
The team at Sorella have become well known for their balayage work, as well as hair transformations, but they also have an in-house cutting specialist and hair extensions professional. They are passionate about healthy hair and are an Olaplex stockist.
There is a separate room for washing hair and this is painted an indulgent deep blue. From the outside of the glass doors you wouldn't know it was home to six basins, but once you walk in you will discover a tranquil space where customers can lay back on super comfy arm chairs, put their feet up on a stool and close their eyes in peace while being given a sumptuous head massage.
Attention has been made to every detail in the new salon, even to the wallpaper on the bathroom walls, and the team at Sorrella are enthusiastic, joyful and really listen and work with their clients to create a colour and style that is not only wearable, but works for them and their lifestyle.
