    Introduction

Method Man is a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, a hip hop group. He is also involved in film and television. At one point he had a television show on FOX called "Method and Red" with Redman, another rapper. He also played Melvin 'Cheese' Wagstaff on HBO's "The Wire".

The Beginning of the M-E-T-H-O-D Man

Method Man grew up in the projects with his mother and two sisters. At an early age he dropped out of school and decided to join the drug game, however, he not soon afterwards decided against living this way and started working on his rap career. He eventually met up with RZA, GZA and ODB, along with the rest of the clan, and formed the group Wu Tang Clan. From the beginning Method Man seemed the poster rapper for the group, with his laid back style and “everything cool” attitude. While not as outgoing as ODB, he also wasn’t in jail a majority of the time. He would grow to be known for his ability to flow to the beat with ease.

    Wu-Tang Clan

Method Man made his debut in the rap game with the Wu’s first album, “Enter the Wu Tang (36 chambers)” in which he was one of the only two members to get his own track, which was self entitled (the other member was GZA with Clan in Da Front). After the albums critical success the Ticalion Stalion would be the first to receive a solo album from RZA, entitled “Tical”. The album reached platinum status and received much praise from public and critics alike.

From here on, he would be featured in nearly every members solo album. He seemed to be a staple member of the group for everyone’s albums, with no ill bonds between him and the rest of the members, unlike some other members (U-God and RZA had a falling out period). When the Wu Tang released their highly anticipated second album, Wu Tang Forever, a two disc monster, the clan was back into the scene, selling over 8.2 million copies to date.

After  a  long period of absence from his solo career, method man came out with “Tical 2000: Judgment Day” the theme of which being apocalyptic myths surrounding the forthcoming millennium. It met critical and public success yet again and reaching platinum status.

After his second solo album, he would continue to participate in the Wu Tang projects, such as The W, and Iron Flag, as well as releasing another solo album, called “Tical 0: The Prequel”. All of which receive mild success compared to previous albums and would prove that Method Man wasn’t leaving the rap game anytime soon.

Method Man has lend his appearance to several video game characters. First of as himself Method Man in Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style and then in the Def Jam fighting games first as The Goosh in the original Def Jam and then as Blaze In Def Jam: Fight for New York and that game its PSP remake.
