Ideal for families, hens and stags and reunions, Old Summer Dairy is 6 miles from Glastonbury, 1/2 hour drive from Cheddar Gorge, close to various National Trust properties and less than 2 hours from the Jurassic coast.

The private Glamping site package includes the 5 6M Belltents and mini Marquee for activities. There is a fully equipped kitchen facility, toilets and showers. There is a covered barn for outdoor dining and gathering, a piazza space, a BBQ area, chillout space with sofas and a wood burner. Outside is a sunken firepit in a dell. We can add another 6M Belltent or our 2 Crash Pads which are like American covered wagons on legs with double mattresses in sleeping up to 2 each. There is a Vintage Sprite 400 caravan sleeping 2 in a 6 x 4ft bed and retro styling and an Alpine with double bed and Indian theme.

We are trying to balance the needs for our guests to celebrate and have fun whilst considering our planet so we donate £50 per month to the WWF and reinvest money in our Nature Reserve. We are off grid with power provided by solar so high output electrical equipment cant be used although there is plenty for everyday use. We are passionate about recycling and provide eco toiletries.

We have a no dogs policy due to the wildlife.

The Cabin was featured on Channel 4 'Cabins in the Wild' and sleeps up to 5 in 2 double and 1 single sleeping lofts accessed by stepladders. The cabin has a toilet and shower, kitchen/living area with TV and double sofa bed and a covered porch with gas barbecue. There are views to Glastonbury Tor, and lots of outdoor space with wildflowers.

There is lots of outdoor space for games and activities.

We have contacts for suppliers such as caterers and entertainments if required.

Dog Friendly

Pets are not allowed as the site is a Nature Reserve.

There are no specific facilities for disabled guests.

Kitchen

Log Cabin has a gas cooker, a microwave, fridge, and all cooking equipment, crockery is provided. Glamping kitchen has the same but no microwave.

Dining Room

Cabin has living room with table seating 5. Covered barn and mini Marquee seating up to 40 for dining on glamping site.

TV and Music Facilities

The Log Cabin has a TV and DVD as well as a digital radio. Guests at the campsite can bring their own music for celebrating their event as required.

Games Room

The mini Marquee is perfect for indoor games and there is ample space outside for ballgames, kite flying, bike riding etc.

Heating and Open Fires

The glamping site has a firepit and the covered barn also has a wood burner.

Bedrooms

The Cabin has 2 double and 1 single sleeping loft. The glamping site sleeps up to 32 in beds.

Linen

All bed linen and towels are provided.

Children's Facilities

High chairs and travel cots available. The site is very safe for children as we are a long way from roads and have lots of outdoor space.

Outdoor

Barbecue area, fire pit, hammocks. We encourage guests to explore the nature reserve and access walks to the river, orchards, village and local pub.

Swimming Pool

There is no swimming pool but wild swimming is popular in the local river.

Parking

There is ample space here for any number of cars.

Smoking

Smoking is permitted outside but we request guests dispose carefully of cigarette butts and have an awareness of fire safety.

Sitting Room

Sunny living room with TV in Cabin. Covered barn for socialising at the Glamping site, plus hammocks for chilling.

Bathrooms

The Log Cabin has a shower and toilet. The glamping site facility has 2 showers and 2 toilets.

Booking Information

Arrival times for the Cabin are after 3pm and departure times are by 11am. For the Glamping site it is arrival after 1pm and departure by 1pm. We can be flexible if required. There is a 2 night minimum stay.

Location

We are secluded behind the woods yet only 5 minutes from the A37 and 10 from the A303 or 30 minutes from the M5. Castle Cary and Bruton stations are 6 miles away. Bristol airport is 1 hour away.

  • Glastonbury and Street are 6 miles away. Shepton Mallett is 10 minutes away. Bath, Bristol and Exeter are 1 hour away.
  • There is a Shell garage with Spa shop in the village. All main supermarkets are between 10 to 30 minutes away. A welcome pack is provided.
  • The village pub serves great food but there are several other good pubs and restaurants within a short drive.
  • Bristol airport is 1 hour away.
  • Castle Cary and Bruton stations are 6 miles away and are main lines from London.
  • There is a bus stop in the village accessing nearby towns.
