Rizal, Kalinga – The first set of medals for this year’s Kalinga Provincial Athletic Meet will be won on January 25 at different playing venues in the Municipality of Rizal.
The 2024 Provincial Sports Festival will kick off with a parade from Macutay Barangay Hall to Macutay-Palao National High School (NHS), where the opening program will be held on the said date.
Following the declaration of the formal opening of the event, games will commence at 1:00 p.m. at various designated playing areas in Rizal and Tabuk City.
Sports events to be played by the young athletes include archery, athletics, baseball, sepak takraw, softball, which will be played at Macutay-Palao NHS ground; arnis, which will take place at MDRRM building; basketball, Babalag open court; billiards, Macutay-Palao NHS; boxing/wushu/wrestling, Rizal Sports Complex; chess, Rizal Central School, and gymnastics at Eco Tourism building.
Moreover, there will also be racket games such as badminton, which will take place at San Pascual gym; and table and lawn tennis at Macutay-Palao NHS.
Other events include volleyball, which will be held at Macutay Barangay Hall; futsal, Rizal Sports Complex; taekwondo, Eco Tourism building; and dance sport, which will be held at Rizal Sports Complex.
The only game set in Tabuk City is swimming, which will happen at the Villa Rosalina Resort in Laya West.
Games will run until the closing and awarding of winning athletes on January 28 at the Macutay – Palao NHS.
