SORSOGON BAGS BEST CULTURAL FEST GRAND PRIZE

Two days before the opening of the Kasanggayahan Festival, Governor Boboy Hamor and the provincial government of Sorsogon were filled with joy and pride as the province was honored with the Grand Winner award for the Best Cultural Festival at the 24th Pearl Awards hosted by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP).

The prestigious event took place at the picturesque Boracay Island.

This recognition highlights the dedication and creativity of the people of Sorsogon in preserving and showcasing their rich cultural heritage.

The Kasanggayahan Festival has long been celebrated for its display of traditional Sorsoganon customs, arts, and dances.

Governor Boboy Hamor expressed his gratitude for the award.

“This achievement is a testament to the unity and passion of the Sorsoganons in promoting our culture and tourism.”

The Kasanggayahan Festival has a history of achieving remarkable feats.

During the 2019 edition, the province made history by earning a Guinness World Record for the largest Filipino folk dance performance.

A remarkable 7,127 Sorsoganons came together to dance the iconic pantomina, setting a record that still stands as a testament to the province’s dedication to its culture.

The Grand Winner award from ATOP DOT serves as a reminder that Sorsogon remains a cultural treasure in the Philippines, and its Kasanggayahan Festival continues to shine as a beacon of tradition and celebration.
