Bhopal: The counting of votes for the 230 Assembly constituencies that went to polls in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2018 on November 28 is underway. The results for Tikamgarh, Jatara, Prithvipur, Niwari, Khargapur, Maharajpur, Chhatarpur and Bijawar Assembly constituencies will be announced today, December 11. Tikamgarh, Jatara, Prithvipur, Niwari, Khargapur, Maharajpur, Chhatarpur and Bijawar are witnessing a tough contest between the candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress among other regional and national parties and will get new MLAs today. Tikamgarh went to polls on November 28 and recorded a voter turnout of 68 per cent. The seat, reserved for Scheduled Caste candidate, is witnessing a tough contest between Rakesh Giri of the BJP and Yadvendra Singh of the Congress. Among others, who are contesting the elections from the seat are – Vinod Kumar Rai of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Birendra Kumar Badgaiyan of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). BJP wins. In 2013, the seat was won by BJP’s Krishna Kumar Shrivastava.

Jatara is witnessing a close fight between BJP’s Harishankar Khatik. He will also face a contest against Dwarika Prasad Ahirwar of BSP and Ahirwar Ramdeen of AAP. The seat, reserved for Scheduled Caste candidate, recorded 70 per cent voter turnout on November 28. BJP’s Harishankar Khatik wins. In 2013 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election, the seat was won by Ahirwar Dinesh Kumar of the Congress.

Prithvipur had witnessed 72 per cent voter turnout of November 28. The candidates fighting for the seat are – Abhay Yadav of the BJP, Brajendra Singh Rathore of the Congress, Kushwaha Nandram of BSP and Ayodhya Prasad of the AAP. Congress wins. In 2013 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election, Anita Sunil Nayak of the BJP had won the seat.

Niwari recorded a voter turnout of 71 per cent on November 28. The seat is witnessing a tough contest between BJP’s Anil Jain, Congress’s Capt. Surendra Singh Yadav, BSP’s Ganesh Prasad Kushwaha and AAP’s Gopal Singh Thakur. BJP wins. The seat was won by Anita Sunil Nayak of the BJP in 2013 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election.

Khargapur recorded a voter turnout of 65 per cent on November 28. The seat is witnessing a tough contest between BJP’s Rahul Lodhi, Congress’s Chanda Singh Gour, AAP’s Priyanka Raja Bundela and BSP’s Ajay Yadav. BJP wins. The seat was won by Shailendra Kumar Jain of the BJP in 2013 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election.

Maharajpur recorded a voter turnout of 62 per cent on November 28. The seat is witnessing a tough contest between BJP’s Manvendra Singh, Congress’s Neeraj Dixit, BSP’s Rajesh Mahton and AAP’s Anwari Khatun. Congress’s Neeraj Dixit wins. The seat was won by Bhanwar Raja Manavendra Singh of BJP in 2013 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election.

Chhatarpur recorded a voter turnout of 63 per cent on November 28. The seat is witnessing a tough contest between BJP’s Archana Singh, Congress’s Alok Chaturvedi and BSP’s Abdul Sameer. Congress wins. The seat was won by Lalita Yadav of the Congress in 2013 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election.

Bijawar recorded a voter turnout of 65 per cent on November 28. The seat is witnessing a tough contest between BJP’s Pushpendra Pathak, Congress’s Shankar Pratap Singh Bundela, BSP’s Anupama Yadav and AAP’s Amit Bhatnagar. Rajesh Shukla from Samajwadi Party wins. The seat was won by Guddan Pathak of the BJP in 2013 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election.

The voting for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2018 was held on November 28. The counting of votes and the results for all the Assembly constituencies including Tikamgarh, Jatara, Prithvipur, Niwari, Khargapur, Maharajpur, Chhatarpur and Bijawar will be announced today, December 11.
