Melur Election Result 2021: AIADMK’s Periyapullan P Alias Selvam wins this constituency with a margin of 24,462 votes.

The 16th Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election was held in a single phase on April 6 this year. The AIADMK and the DMK are the key parties in the state and these were also the first elections fought in years without the two-party stalwarts and arch-rivals J Jayalalithaa and M Karunanidhi. Other key candidates who contested from this constituency include Ravichandran T (INC), Kathiresan K (MNM), Karuppusamy P (NTK) and Selvaraj A (AMMK). Currently, AIADMK is leading in the constituency.
