Billie Piper rocked up at the BAFTAs showcasing an edgy new look.

The 39-year old Doctor Who star opted for all black outfit of cropped sleeveless top, which she paired with a belted layered mini skirt and knee high black boots.

She matched her style with bold black eye make up and her blonde short hair casually styled with a loosely caressed wave.

The I Hate Suzie actress was surrounded by the best in the movie business as she attended the awards at The Royal Albert Hall before heading to a star-studded after party.

Billie was just 15 when she burst into the pop world after appearing in a Spice Girls tribute band on children’s magazine show Scratchy & Co .

By then she had already worked with pop icon Madonna aged 14, after landing a role as an extra in 1996 Hollywood blockbuster Evita .

Fresh faced and appearing carefree Billie opted for her hair to be pulled back in a 90s classic up-do and rocked the crop top with her wash board stomach.

The hit maker had a sporty 'manufactured' pop vibe but she was soon to make her own mark on the acting world.

In a nod to a Britney-esq look Billie opted for a raunchy red leather two piece for the 2000 Smash Hits Poll Winner’s Party.

At just 19, she tied the knot with Chris Evans who was 15 years her senior. The relationship lasted until 2004, when the pair separated.

That same year, Piper appeared in comedy movies The Calcium Kid and Things to do Before You’re Thirty alongside Orlando Bloom, Jimi Mistry and other upcoming stars.

In 2003, Piper got her first television role as Alison Crosby in "The Miller's Tale," an episode of the "Canterbury Tales" miniseries.

A couple movie roles followed the next year, and in 2005, Piper got the now-iconic role of Rose in the revival of "Doctor Who.

After giving birth to her first son Winston with fellow actor husband Laurence Fox in October 2008, Billie jumped back into film episodes of raunchy ITV drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Her stage career - perhaps lesser know has also been to high acclaim - including the prestigious prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress as "Her" in The Young Vic's production of "Yerma" in 2016.

Other notable roles over the years include Lily Frankenstein in "Penny Dreadful," and Karen Mars in the Carey Mulligan-led series "Collateral," for which she was also nominated for a BAFTA.

But one of her boldest red carpet moments came to honour an icon of British fashion, Dame Vivienne Westwood in the designer frock which featured a daring bandeau neckline, a racy thigh-high split, and exaggerated, billowing sleeves.

Her most recent accolade saw her scoop Best actress at the BAFTA TV awards as the titular character in I Hate Suzie and writing and staring in her own movie Rare Beasts.
