Recent flooding in Far North Queensland Australia from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper. Heavy rains descended from the heavens, obliterating large parcels of land and residential areas with nearly a meter of rain over 4 days. The photo here, is the McAvoy Bridge and adjoining light cane train rail bridge on the North Johnstone River, inundated with nearly 7.5mtr high flood waters. All that can be seen is the road signs and nothing else.
Whilst departing to New Zealand, our aircraft flew over the township of Innisfail Queensland Australia. The township is inland from the mouth of the river. The day was clear, little cloud cover, and the sea was clear. Beautiful out the window shot!!

Heavy rains from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper, devastated large areas of North Queensland, and inundated many communities and facilities. One facility impacted by floodwaters, was the Innisfail Public Boat Ramp, this ramp enables the locals to launch their boats into the river, and depart down river to the open sea. This photo shows the ramp disappeared under meters of water after the two Johnstone River systems collided, bringing immense water down from their respective catchments, and meeting at Innisfail junction.
