WOODRUFF COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The small town of Cotton Plant has no police officers on duty right now.

According to NBC-affiliate KARK, the last remaining officer on the force has been fired.

The Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training recently found the officer was only meant to work part-time.

However, he had been working full-time with the department since 2013.

The officer is not allowed to police until 2018.

This comes a couple of weeks after Region 8 News reported the Woodruff County prosecuting attorney fired Cotton Plant Police Chief Bobby Burnett.

An audit found Burnett pocketed the money a woman gave him for 3 months to pay off her son's fines.

That money never made it to the county.
