Aachquelle – Aachtopf

With an average of around 8,600 liters per second, it is the most abundant source in Germany. The water comes from the Danube infiltration in the north of the Aachtopf and feeds the Radolfzeller Aach, which flows into Lake Constance after about 32 kilometers between Moos and Radolfzell.

For many years, the water power was used for production by the Schiesser companies in Volkertshausen and Rielasingen.

The largest spring in Germany in one of the 100 smallest places in Germany: Aach. The source is nothing spectacular. You can hike along, drink coffee in the self-service restaurant. Lay on the bike course. Free entry. Homepage available.

Interesting geology: The Aachquelle originated from the underground drainage of the Danube. Today unfortunately neglected and completely muddy.
