Two diversion routes will be in place while a two-mile stretch of road is rebuilt over an eight-week period. Work to rejuvenate the B1202 in Boothby Graffoe will begin on Monday, January 29, with the road closed from 8am until 6pm on weekdays.

Workers will be focusing on the stretches of Metheringham Heath Lane between the A15 and the A607, and the A15 and Bloxholm Lane. Cllr Richard Davies, the executive member for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "There is a nearly two-mile stretch of the B1202 in Boothby Graffoe that is getting close to the end of its life, so we'll be rebuilding this section of road early next year before it gets any worse.

"As part of these improvements, we'll be using over 11,700 tonnes of tarmac and other road-building materials to carry this important project out." The first diversion route will take motorists from the A15 to the B1178 and finally to the A607, and vice versa.

The second will ferry drivers from the A16 to the B117, onto the B1188 and then the B1202, and vice versa. Cllr Davies added that the authority will do 'everything it can' to keep disruption to a minimum.

Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained while the works are underway. While on-site, workers will also carry out other bits of maintenance, replacing the kerbs and some ironwork.
