Has the Karnataka government identified land for 2nd airport? KIA MD Hari Marar says Bengaluru needs a 2nd airport. Over the next 10 years, the airport will reach its structural capacity of 92 million passengers. Identifying the land should have started 2 years ago, he says. Curious to see how fast the Karnataka government responds. #BengaluruAirport #Bengaluru2ndAirport #AirportDevelopment #KarnatakaInfrastructure #HariMarar #AirportCapacity #KarnatakaGovernment #InfrastructurePlanning #BengaluruTransport #UrbanDevelopment #BengaluruTraffic #KIAExpansion #AirportCongestion #FutureTransport #BengaluruGrowth #InfrastructureChallenges

Persistently building infrastructure the way it is being done in Bombay, is only a facile solution to a deep rooted problem. We need to get to the roots of the problem rather than persistently engaging in a plethora of metro and other transportation projects. There are two root causes of the problem: 1. Unchecked growth of population in India 2. Unchecked migration into cities. If we persistently keep building infrastructure to cater to the unceasing influx of people into cities due to these two root causes, we will end up polluting and destroying the environment, and anyway all means of transportation will sooner or later reach saturation point due to the unceasing influx of people. For a better understanding of my point of view, and to understand what I have proposed to solve the problem, read my following 2 valuable articles: 1. In 2024 #Mumbai will be one of few global cities with 2 parallel railway systems — the centuries-old suburban network that carries 7 million passengers daily — and 12 metro lines with 250 new stations that will ease that load. Plus a parallel coastal road over the sea, underground and on bridges from south Mumbai’s Marine Drive to Virar in the northern suburbs

Latest reports indicate that the Karnataka Government is actively exploring the possibility of setting up a second airport for Bengaluru to address the increasing demand and evolving air-travel infrastructure requirements. The Tumakuru-Chitradurga stretch is currently being evaluated as a potential location, strategically positioned in proximity to the IT-BT capital. Minister MB Patil has revealed that the state is in the preliminary stages of pinpointing suitable airport locations, citing examples from cities like Mumbai and Goa, where the implementation of multiple airports within one city has proven successful. This move aligns with the government's commitment to enhancing air connectivity and accommodating the burgeoning growth in passenger traffic. The development is crucial for Bengaluru, a significant hub for IT and technology, and aims to ease congestion at the existing airport while fostering the expansion of the aviation sector. #Bengaluru #AirportExpansion #AirTravel #InfrastructureDevelopment #KarnatakaGovernment #TumakuruChitradurgaAirport #AviationGrowth #TravelNews #IndianStartupNews #UrbanDevelopment #Transportation #ConnectivityUpgrade

Hyderabad likely to join list of cities with two airports..? With Hyderabad's rapid growth, the cabinet felt the need for a second airport in the city. Hyderabad is soon likely to join the list of cities that have two commercial airports, as the Telangana government proposed the development of a second airport in the city. The government plans to request the center to allow the use of the defence airport at Hakimpet for civil aviation, and this matter will be taken up with the Defence Ministry shortly. Hakimpet station can function in a hybrid model similar to Pune and Goa, where the airports are used for both defence and civil aviation. Currently, the international airport located at Shamshabad, Hyderabad, caters to the needs of 2.5 crore passengers annually. With the city’s rapid growth, the cabinet felt the need for a second airport. In India, Delhi NCR also has two airports. Apart from Indira Gandhi International Airport, the region also has another commercial airport, Hindon Airport. Goa which is the smallest state in India also has two airports. One is in north Goa and the other is in South Goa. They are Dabolim Airport and Manohar International Airport. #airports #hyderabad #goa #delhi #shamshabadairport #salesforce #gecapital #rapid #rajivwilliams

Talking about Airports in Mumbai alone, we have one airport over western line, upcoming new airport over Navi Mumbai (harbour )( cool), why no airports over central line ( why is central line or central suburb abandoned for an Airport???) That's very disgusting, Mumbai Central line must get an airport as well... This will decongest Mumbai a lot, people won't have to worry much about traveling far over right timings and traffic. SAF.. we can then have Shortest Airport First algorithm running. https://lnkd.in/d8YNhnzG
