We invite YOU to participate in Global Bird Rescue Week with us! Each year, at the beginning of October, participants search their communities for bird collisions and document these encounters on the Global Bird Collision Mapper. There is no minimum time requirement to participate. There are a few ways you can participate. Most people participate by searching for and documenting evidence of bird collisions as individuals or as part of a team, but you can also focus on making your home or workplace bird-safe — or spreading the word! Get started with the Global Bird Collision Mapper at https://birdmapper.org/. 📷 Baltimore Oriole & reflection in a window by David A. Did you know? Once geese nest on your property, they're here to stay! As nesting season approaches, it's crucial to act fast to deter these feathered visitors. Once they lay eggs, they go through a molt, rendering them flightless and making removal a challenge. They'll stick around until their goslings can fly! Stay ahead of the feathered invasion with the Goosebuster Pro from Bird-X! This humane solution keeps your space goose-free without harming our feathered friends. Say goodbye to unwanted guests and hello to a pristine lawn! Contact our X-perts now, before it’s too late, at 800-662-5021 or solutions@bird-x.com for help with your #birdcontrol. These are some of my favorite projects to work on. Thermal surveys for wildlife are far less invasive and more accurate than many traditional models. Covering large areas for a fuller picture for far less eco-footprint than some methods. #projects #work #ecology
Land and asset management is something every organization faces. Thermal payloads can help with a wide variety of inspections... sometimes we help inspect the other "residents" of a clients location. Learn how we use thermal imagery to keep tabs on wildlife. #assetmanagement #conservation https://lnkd.in/eRz_CyKw

“Bird Strike” or “Bird Collision” Originally, the sky is a natural habitat for birds. Bird fly and dwell in the sky, utilizing it to navigate for food, build nests, and engage in behaviors essential to their survival. As part of this life cycle, bird is well-equipped for instinctive sky-based activities, with built-in GPS, keen vision, and wings designed specifically for its needs. Including seasonal flocks migration for breeding and winter ground. Then the human came and decided to share the sky with birds beside hunting them. As human becoming more and more occupants they agreed to manage aerial navigation among them selves. The thing is, when they struck the bird (sky natural occupant), it is called “bird strike”. in fact, the innocent bird was busy in its daily surviving routine, searching and bringing food to babies in the nest. The term “bird collision” is more accurate and expressive than “bird strike”.😎🦆😍 What do you think “Duck” ?????

Bird migration is a natural wonder, but it can also result in birds taking up residence on your property. Our master falconer provides the solution to effectively manage this, maintaining a pest-free space. 🌏🕊️ #PestPrevention #BirdControl

We understand that these images can be distressing, and it is challenging for us too, as we confront this tragedy daily. We believe it is our responsibility to expose what is happening beneath the surface to the public. We serve as the eyes beneath the water and acknowledge our duty. Volunteers from Ghost Diving Hong Kong had the difficult task of locating victims of ghost gear in the recovered nets – a phenomenon we are actively fighting against. Among the disturbing discoveries were - a juvenile stingray (an endangered species), - a blue crab, - common crabs (two were rescued, while the others, unfortunately, did not survive), - three groupers, - and more reef fish... This is just an example of what we encounter in ghost nets – and why are cleaning the seas from marine litter. This ghost net would have caught more animals if it had stayed longer underwater. Thanks to all our partners and volunteers, who enable us to conduct cleanup missions and safeguard marine life. Would you like to join us in our journey towards healthier seas? It’s our most spook-tacular project yet! 💀 Our team of ghost hunters are on a mission to find the 👻s of the ocean…ghost ships, that is! Ghost ships are ships that sank unintentionally–often during storms or war–and provide ecologically valuable habitats for a diversity of marine species, ranging from reef fishes to top predators. Understanding how fish communities use these shipwreck reefs can help guide management decisions, spatial planning for offshore development, and habitat enhancement to ensure healthy reef ecosystems and sustainable ecosystems.
