Croxdale Group has taken on the Mitsubishi franchise in Durham.
Croxdale Mitsubishi , located on the A167 around four miles outside the city centre, features a seven-car showroom together with a 400 sq metre, workshop that houses eight bays, an MOT bay and diagnostic lane.
Croxdale already represents Subaru, Citroen and DS and also has a fast-fit business, which it bills as the north east’s largest independent specialist.
Kevin Parkinson, managing director, said he was “very excited” to represent the brand in Durham.
Lance Bradley, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “I’m delighted that Croxdale Group has chosen to grow with Mitsubishi at what is a very exciting time for the brand.
“With their expertise, and the group already having an excellent reputation in the area, we know that the region’s new and existing Mitsubishi owners are in very safe hands.”
Mitsubishi has seen some churn in its network over the past year with some losses. In November 2016 VT Holdings subsidiary CCR Motor consolidated its eight Mitsubishi operations by concentrating sales through three main sites at Bristol, Cheltenham and Swindon.
The group relinquished the franchise in Cirencester, Melksham, Wokingham, Chertsey and Weston-super-Mare.
But it also added businesses. In April last year Formula One legend Nigel Mansell has opened a new Mitsubishi showroom and a four-bay workshop in Jersey.
And in February Pentagon took on the franchise for the first time, taking over the Lincoln franchise from local dealer Charles Warner.
