Assembly constituency no.10 Ambikapur (अंबिकापुर in Hindi), is an Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) seat in the North region and Surguja district, of the state of Chhattisgarh, which is in the Central region of India (Bharat). Ambikapur is part of the 1. Surguja (Scheduled Tribe) Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency. This constituency can be categorised as: General; Rural constituency.

DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE

Ambikapur Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 5.58% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 38.8%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission of 2008. The estimated literacy level of the district in which this constituency falls in is 60.01%, according the Census of India, 2011.

In the 2023 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,55,479 eligible electors in the constituency, of which 1,26,231 were male and 1,29,236 female and 12 registered voters were of the third gender.

In the 2018 Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, T S Baba of INC won in this seat defeating Anurag Singh Deo of BJP by a margin of 39,624 which was 22.17% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 56.19% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, T S Baba of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Anurag Singh Deo of BJP by a margin of 19,558 votes which was 11.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 51.64% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, T S Baba of INC won this seat beating Anurag Singh Dev of BJP by a margin of 948 votes which was 0.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 42.12% in the seat.
