Assembly constituency no.52 Bijawar (बिजावर in Hindi), is an Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) seat in the Vindhya Pradesh region and Chhatarpur district, of the state of Madhya Pradesh, which is in the Central region of India (Bharat). Bijawar is part of the 6. Tikamgarh (Scheduled Caste) Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency. This constituency can be categorised as: General; Rural constituency.

DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE

Bijawar Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 22.02% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 8.81%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission of 2008. The estimated literacy level of the district in which this constituency falls in is 63.74%, according the Census of India, 2011.

In the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,31,021 eligible electors in the constituency, of which 1,23,030 were male and 1,07,990 female and 1 registered voters were of the third gender.

PAST RESULTS

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Rajesh Kumar (Bablu Bhaiya) of SP won in this seat defeating Guddan Bhaiya Pushpendra Nath Pathak of BJP by a margin of 36,714 which was 25.4% of the total votes cast for the seat. SP had a vote share of 46.78% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Guddan Pathak (Pushpendra Nath) of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Bablu Rajesh Shukla of INC by a margin of 10,379 votes which was 8.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 39.68% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Asharani of BJP won this seat beating Rajesh Shukla (Bablu Bhaiya) of INC by a margin of 2,071 votes which was 2.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 26.53% in the seat.

Bijawar comprises of the following areas of Chhatarpur district in the Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh: Ishanagar RI Circle of Chhatarpur Tehsil, Bijawar and Devra RI Circles of Bijawar Tehsil, Satai (Nagar Panchayat) NPT, Bijawar (Nagar Panchayat) NPT, 42 Kutiya, 43 Saandni, 44 Jwana, 45 Bhaira, 46 Didoniya, 47 Salaiya, 48 Jhamtuli, 49 Purwa and 50 Kheri Patwari Circles of Basari RI Circle of Rajnagar Tehsil.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 2,057 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bijawar is: 24°37’14.5″N 79°36’18.0″E.
