JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ After a long delay to start the season due to a global pandemic, high school football season kicks off on Sept. 4 around Florida and Georgia. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced quite a few adjustments to schedules in 2020 and many teams have yet to finalize their schedules. Teams that donโt have opponents for a certain date or their schedules have not been provided are marked with a TBA. FLORIDAAll games start at 7 p.m. unless indicated. Columbia County schools will hold graduation, prom this summer
Columbia County has finalized dates for high school graduation and prom that were wiped out by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Columbia County School District announced that prom and graduation will be held for Columbia and Fort White high schools. โWeโre planning on having [prom] in our gymnasium,โ said Columbia High principal Thomas Hosford. โMy thought process with that is that they had their last couple of months of high school snatched away from them. St. Johns County announced that it was forgoing traditional graduation and holding a virtual graduation instead.

70-year-old pedestrian killed in crash involving semitruck
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. - A 70-year-old Fort White man was killed Tuesday morning when he was hit by a semitruck in High Springs, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The man was struck around 10:30 a.m. on U.S. 441 near Northwest 202nd Street. Troopers said Joseph Mitchell was struck when he entered the northbound lanes of the highway. It's unclear why Mitchell was in the road, troopers said. The driver of the semitruck was not injured.
