HYDERABAD: Two leopards caused a panic on Thimmappa Hill near Kosigi village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh by constantly attacking the dogs, sheep. The big cats caused fear among the villagers. The herdsmen are afraid to take the cattle out for fodder and farmers are in panic to go to work in the fields.

However, there is a criticism that the forest officials are not paying attention to the leopards being seen in the hills for the last two years and it was alleged that forest officials are advising the villagers that leopards do not attack people and eat only monkeys and dogs.

The villagers are said to be on the lookout for leopards many times at night. As leopards have been seen twice a week, the villagers are afraid to go to work in the fields as the fields are close to the hill near the village. However, the villagers urged the higher authorities to respond and catch the leopards.
