Lenora Baldwin was born October 10, 1929 to Ruby Rogers and Elston Drennan in Tamo, Arkansas where she resided until the age of 32 when she relocated to Los Angeles, Ca where she worked as a clothing manufacturer ntil she met the love of her life Robert Lee Evans Sr. who proceeded her in death in 1996.
Shortly after meeting Robert she opened a small cafe located in Los Angeles which became a local hangout for all of her family and friends. You could often catch Lenora taking care of her children and grandchildren, cooking, dancing, traveling, placing bets at the horse track and occasionally visiting a casino! She truly enjoyed the company of everyone! We rarely saw her sad, she always held her head high while fulfilling her family obligations. She was a strong little lady who would discipline some of her grandsons with a whopping from a butcher knife or a friendly body slam to the kitchen floor!
Lenora birthed six children one of which Shirley McCoy-Jones proceeded her in death in 1999 leaving behind two daughters Sharice and Shirmika. Lenora is survived by five children, one stepson, one son-in-law, 23 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Jesse "Mickey" McCoy Jr and his children Jesse 3rd, Christian and Shana and grandchildren Central-Julvoni and two other grandchildren. Vera Gene DeLoney and her children Dina and husband Kevin, Dawn, Andrea and Alexis grandchildren Demonte and Vallee. Roy Nelson and Kim Gossett and their children Marlentheis, Lauren, Brittany, Briana, and Kamera and grandchildren Jayse, Main, Kaiden and DeTrea. Luscious "LC" and Jackie Gossett and their children Marcus and Isaiah and 2 grandchildren. Arvivian "Kay" and Chester Roberts and their children Mandell, Crystal, Chester Jr. and April, grandchildren Raven, Jamal, Austin, Sydney, Kacy and Ayah and 2 great grandchildren. Lenora's step son Robert Lee Evans Jr and his children LaShonay Evans, Robert Lee Evans 3rd and Chenae Evans grandchild Siniya.
Lenora is also survived by two brothers Freddie and Frank, two sisters Golena and Annie B. along with her husband David and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
