an old black and white photo of a man in a suit with a bow tie
Auguste Godeau
Some have claimed that this is a picture of Augustin Goudeau II, born 1777, son of Antoine Goudeau I, son of Michel Charles Goudeau (1713-1764). But Augustin died in 1840, before photography was introduced into New Orleans. It is more likely his son, Auguste Godeau, born 1807. This photo appears to have been taken in the 1870s.
