The Old Mill - St Helens - isle of Wight

This house is built on the site of St Helens Mill. Some of the original mill parts are incorporated into this building. When the mill pond fills up with the incoming tide the water was trapped in the mill pond by sluice gates in the mill wall. This water was then used to power the mill when the tide was out. The spent water came out under the bridge on the left into the public landing area. Nikon D3100
