Robins is a part of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area which is the second largest population center in the State of Iowa.  The area is known for outstanding K-12 schools and colleges and universities. The area is also known for outstanding medical services, research institutions, aerospace industries, financial services, manufacturing, agricultural and food processing companies.

Population:

Robins has seen its population increase by 83 percent since 2000 and has grown faster than 98% of similar sized cities in Iowa.  Approximately 3,500 residents live in Robins located on the north edge of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Metro Area.  We offer a high quality of life, outstanding recreational opportunities, and exceptional schools. We’re a great place for families, young professionals, and retirees. 

Education:

96% of Robins residents have a high school diploma or higher; 36% have Bachelor or higher degree; and 10% have a Graduate or professional degree.

The City is served by three great K through12 school districts (Linn Mar, Cedar Rapids and Alburnett)  along with Coe College, Mount Mercy University, Kirkwood Community College, and Upper Iowa University, with the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa situated nearby. There are also several recognized outstanding medical care providers within the area.

Convenience:

The average commute for Robin’s residents is approximately 17 minutes.  Robins is immediately adjacent to Interstate 380 and within 25 minutes of Interstate 80.  Robins is served by the Eastern Iowa Airport, 15 minutes south of Robins on Interstate 380.

Fiscal Facts:

Robins was recently named the most affluent town in Iowa by the American Community Survey while at the same time maintaining the lowest property taxes in the Metro Area ($7.71 per $1,000 assessed valuation).  The median home valuation is $323,200. 75% of Robins’ households’ annual income ranges from $75,000 to $200,000+.

The Robins Experience:

Residents enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities including two parks.  East Knoll Park includes picnic areas, a playground, basketball and sand volleyball courts, a walking trail, and an open field sports area. South Troy Park features picnic areas, a playground, a sand volleyball court, basketball court, softball diamonds, and access to the Cedar Valley Nature Trail which is an inter-metro walking and biking trail.

The City hosts several events throughout the year, including the Santa Claus Christmas Party, the Easter Egg Hunt, Robins Roundup Celebration, summer fireworks and Bluegrass Festival.  In the Metro area just outside of Robins, opportunities for arts, history, sports, and entertainment flourish.  Robins is close to the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, Brucemore National Historic Site, Cedar Rapids Kernels Minor League baseball, Big Ten/Big 12 Conference athletics, the Paramount Theatre, Hancher Auditorium for Performing Arts, the Grand Masonic Lodge Library of Iowa, NewBo Market Place, Tuma Soccer Complex, Prospect Meadows Baseball Complex,  McGrath Amphitheater, the Freedom Festival, Theatre Cedar Rapids, Giving Tree Theater, and so much more. As part of the Metro area of Cedar Rapids – the second largest city in Iowa – Robins is close to all the action, but far enough removed to maintain its hometown character and charm.
