The museum is part of the Museum of the Diocese of Tempio-Ampurias, which has the characteristic of being located throughout the territory in different locations: Calangianus, Castelsardo, La Maddalena, Martis, Nulvi and Perugas.
It is located at the oratory of Our Lady of the Rosary, formerly the seat of the homonymous confraternity, adjacent to the parish church.
The museum, built in a single environment and recently restored, offers visitors a rich collection that includes pieces from the 16th to the 18th century.
The main theme is represented by the parish liturgical tradition: archival volumes from the 17th century, sacred vestments, silverware, valuable wooden statues, cappuccine tabernacle from the 18th century.
The biographies of some illustrious Calangianese clergymen are also presented. The so-called 'Damascus affair', a 'mystery' of international politics that has not yet been solved, is particularly intriguing. The protagonist of the story was Father Tommaso da Calangianus, a Capuchin friar who lived for thirty-two years on a mission to Damascus, where he was killed on February 5, 1840, in the Jewish ghetto. Also interesting is the story of the Capuchin Father Bonaventura Corda, a generous patron who enriched the community with valuable works of art, including some canvases by Giovanni Marghinotti.
The museum also documents the profound action carried out by the convent of the Capuchin Fathers, rich in history and illustrious figures. The collection includes documents from the 17th century, liturgical vestments in silk and gold from a French and Ligurian workshop, and the rich and refined 19th century pictures.
Why is it important to visit it
It helps to discover the spirituality of the local parish community, to learn about the liturgical function and sacred objects, to rediscover religious identity.
Noteworthy are a late-Baroque monstrance attributed to the workshop of the Sassari silversmith Raphael Alfani, a professional mace head, rare in its kind, and an architectural relic holder by a Roman silversmith.

Information on tickets and access: The museum is open exclusively by reservation, which can also be made from the structure's website. Restrictions: The use of mobile phones is not allowed. It is not possible to enter the monuments with food and drink. Smoking is prohibited in monument complexes. In the monuments it is possible to take pictures or take pictures. Those who need photographic material or must take professional photographic shots must request a specific permit from the Diocesan Office for Cultural Heritage. It is absolutely forbidden to touch the works of art. There are architectural barriers.
