Description:Ruined remains of Hamstall Hall, the old manor house of Hamstall Ridware. The Hall dates from the early 17th century, and was built not long after Sir Thomas Leigh bought the estate from the Fitzherbert family in 1601. Large scale rebuilding took place in the 1780s and in 1821. The Leighs sold the estate in 1920. Lt.Col. Sir Ian Walker Bart. DSO sold it in 1946. It has since stood derelict and was further damaged by fire in 1964.
Pictured are the Hall and the Loggia, which acted as a porch to the Old Hall.
