Two Bald Knob police officers have been commended by Police Chief Larry House for helping to save the life of “an unresponsive male” in late June.
House told the Bald Knob City Council that officers Brandon Brown and J.R. Tackett “were dispatched to a medical call” June 26.
“They arrived on scene within one minute and within one minute and 30 seconds, Officer Brown started chest compressions while Officer Tackett maintained radio communication with dispatch because this man didn’t have a pulse,” House said.
According to House, Tackett then took over compressions so Brown could rest, and both officers continued life-saving measures “in a strong display of teamwork until medics arrived on scene approximately 10 minutes later.” H
Medics reported that the man the officers were helping regained signs of life prior to his transport for further medical treatment.
“Officer Brown and Officer Tackett are credited with bold, decisive action that directly impacted the outcome of the situation,” House said. “It brought exceptional credit to the Bald Knob Police Department.”
Bald Knob Mayor Barth Grayson said the commendations, which were framed, were “very well deserved.”
