Castle Mill House near Dorking in Surrey was once the humble home of a miller on the estate of the much grander Betchworth Castle. Today fortunes have reversed and the miller’s house is the grander of the two properties — the castle lies in ruins.
The home has six bedrooms
The oldest parts of Castle Mill House, which is near the River Mole, date from the 1600s, although the house was extended in the early 1800s. The grade II listed home has six bedrooms, five reception rooms and a cellar. It is set in more than five acres of gardens and water meadows on the edge of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with unbroken views across the river to Box Hill.
