Giro delle Tre Valli

Leventina and Blenio in a single trip: two valleys linked by beautiful mountains and by the stunning view over the Three Valleys from the Northern Ticino.

The trip starts in Sobrio, which stands on a terrace dating back to the ice age, with an incredible view over the mid-Leventina Valley.

The path leads up to the Pian d’Alpe hut, situated in a fir wood, above gentle slopes with large meadows surrounded by age-old larch trees. The hut is manned during the summer, meaning that visitors can enjoy local dishes and stay overnight in this natural paradise.

Continuing along the panoramic path through colourful meadows until glimpsing the uppermost pastures surrounded by old larch trees, the more adventurous can set out on a short diversion from the Bassa dei Cantói and make their way to the Matro with its unmistakable aerial: the first peak on the ridge that rises up northwards from Biasca and divides the Blenio Valley from the Leventina Valley. The view from the top extends all the way from the Riviera Valley to Bellinzona.

The route then heads back down to Sobrio.
