Jaisinghnagar Assembly election results 2018: BJP's Jaisingh Maravi wins

Pramila Singh from BJP won the Jaisinghnagar Assembly election in 2013 by a margin of 13,963 votes.

The results of the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections will be declared on December 11.  

Bhopal: BJP's Jaisingh Maravi has won with a margin of around 17267 votes in the Jaisinghnagar constituency of Madhya Pradesh which went to elections on November 28 and counting of votes for the Jaisinghnagar constituency started yesterday. While the constituency of Jaisinghnagar is in Madhya Pradesh's Baghelkhand region, BJP's Pramila Singh was the sitting MLA. In the initial counting, BJP's Jaisingh Maravi was also in lead.

It is located in the eastern region of the state, having a literacy rate of 73.57%. The constituency goes to poll on November 28 in the single-phase of Madhya Pradesh Assembly election 2018. The seat is reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates only.

In 2013 Legislative Assembly elections, Pramila Singh of BJP won the seat and defeated Dhyan Singh of Congress by a margin of 13,963 votes.

While BJP has named Jaisingh Maravi to contest the 2018 Legislative Assembly election, Congress has named Dhyan Singh as its MLA candidate. Dhyan Singh lost the 2013 election against BJP.

The population of the district is 8,233 of which 4,180 are males while 4,053 are females as per the report released by Census India 2011. The Nagar Panchayat is authorised to look over 1,952 houses of the district and provide them with basic amenities.

The economy of the region majorly depends on agriculture. The mining industries in the region also contribute to the economic growth of the region.

Madhya Pradesh’s 230 constituencies will go to polls on November 28 to elect members of the Legislative Assembly. While the BJP’s Shivraj Singh Chouhan is aiming for his fourth term as chief minister, the Congress is fighting to wrest the state back after losing it to the BJP in 2003.
