Chilches
Chilches is a small town located in Castellón, made up of a maritime area that has two beaches: El Cerezo and Les Cases. Perfect alternative for vacations and weekends, and for family tourism.
Castellón de la Plana
Castellón is the capital of the smallest province of the Valencian Community and is located north of Valencia and south of Tarragona. Its coast receives the tourist name of Costa del Azahar.
A good starting point to get to know part of the Spanish coast. Of which its gardens of orange trees, wide walks that reach the sea, noble houses and churches that must be visited once arrived in this city of medieval origins stand out.
The historical-artistic heritage is concentrated in its historic center, where there are essential places to visit such as the Santa María La Mayor co-cathedral, the Old Casino and the Lonja del Cáñamo.
On the outskirts of the city there are also interesting points such as the Castell Vell, the hermitage of Santa María Magdalena and the Alonso tower.
For lovers of the sea, Castellón has three urban beaches, Pilar beach, Gurugú beach and Serradal beach. The latter, perfect for practicing water sports.
The Museu de Belles Arts opened its doors in 2001, although its origins go back to 1854, the year in which it was founded. This museum is one of the oldest in the Valencian Community.
It revolves around a landscaped cloister with magnificent cypresses, belonging to the old Serra Espadá school.
It contains the artistic collection of the Hon. Provincial Council of Castellón and various deposits, donations and legacies of important artists.
In it you can enjoy an exhibited collection arranged thematically. The Archaeological section includes pieces found in the province, from the Paleolithic period to the Middle Ages. The Ceramics area is the most important, containing more than a thousand pieces. And in the Painting section we find canvases by Ribera, Ribalta or Sorolla.
Under the name of Museu de Belles Arts, four blocks are grouped around a cloister. And the permanent collections are divided into three large areas: Archaeology-Ethnology, Ceramics and Painting-Sculpture.
1st In the basement is the Archeology and Ethnology section, with its own routes, it is also divided into five exhibition axes: art and communication.
2nd On the ground floor and the first floor is the most important collection, which consists of traditional Valencian ceramics from the 15th to the 19th centuries, more than 800 pieces are exhibited, from various places, all of them belonging to the legacy of Francisco Esteve Gálvez.
3rd In the third, are the works of artists linked to the Diputación de Castellón.
Valencia
Valencia is a city that has a valuable architectural and cultural heritage, as well as a historic center to visit, where the Romanesque, Valencian Gothic and Baroque styles are combined in harmony.
A city that has a contrast between its monumental heritage, where we find La Lonja, Las Torres de Serranos and de Quart… And its magnificent beaches, the wide gastronomic and leisure offer.
Segorbe
Old town, capital of Alto Palancia, Castellón. Of great historical importance, it was the main stop between Valencia and Castellón with Aragón.
In this charming little town, its gastronomy stands out, which has made it an important focus of inland tourism. Without overlooking its Basilica Cathedral or the Oil Museum.
In it we find one of the most emblematic fountains of the region, the Fuente de los 50 caños, from which the water brought by the precipitations emerges powerfully.
