MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WTVY) - A day before primary elections, Donald Trump’s name is back on the ballot.

The United States Supreme Court unanimously restored Trump to the 2024 presidential primary ballots Monday morning, despite state attempts to remove him.

The ruling halts movements in states like Colorado, Illinois, and Maine to remove Trump from the presidential primary because of his part in the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol,

Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen spoke in favor of the Supreme Court’s decision.

He said:

“Today, the United States Supreme Court made a decision that was fully compliant with the United States Constitution. Ten other Secretaries of State joined me in filing a brief with the Court reiterating the fact that the Constitution does not provide a vehicle for any Secretary of State to remove a Presidential candidate from the ballot. Now that this decision has been made, voters on Super Tuesday can hold their elections without any additional distraction in this matter.”
