I came here for lunch after reading the interesting set menu outside of the restaurant. It was the first and only vegetarian restaurant that I had seen while in Madrid so I decided to give it a try. From the set menu, I ordered the watermelon soup, the mushroom and leek tart surrounded by a salad and the melon for dessert. The watermelon soup was quite interesting and something that I had never had before. The soup was essentially made from strained puréed watermelon. The mushroom and leek tart was quite delicious however I did find that some of the salad leaves were not fresh, which surprised me considering the fact that the restaurant was vegetarian and mostly based on vegetables. The melon dessert was good but the melon could have been a little bit fresher. Overall, the meal was good and the value of the set menu is much more worthwhile than the price of the dishes separately for dinner.

Awesome goat cheese. Fabulous veggie paella. Ate here twice on our holiday. They were very helpful and patient with my attempts to speak Spanish. (Their English was way better!) Portions are much larger than I expected.

I came here for dinner with my husband one night while visiting the city and we were thrilled! We're vegan and the menu is incredibly accommodating! Have you tried saying "veganos" to anyone in Spain? Yep. You'll have to list "no egg, cheese, milk, cream, etc" b/c saying "no dairy" gets you absolutely nowhere. In fact, saying your vegan is worthless. No one knows what it is. At Al Natural, we could rest easy that our food wasn't sauteed in fish sauce or battered in egg yolks. Our server was incredible and so was the food. We had no complaints but I must say - the dessert wasn't worth it. A bottle of wine was a cool €11 so that was a nice perk! We wanted to try as many foods as we could while in Madrid but if we were in the area longer than 4 days, we would've absolutely come back.

I'm a vegetarian and as most would imagine Spain can be a difficult place to gastronomically navigate for us non meat eaters. However Al Natural was a true gem, a lucky find. The service was very hospitable and the food remarkable. I highly recommend Al Natural for anyone who is considering it!

I came here after a recommendation from the concierge at the Westin Palace. Happy to be able to find a place to caters to vegetarians. I ordered the lasagna and the tiramisu. The lasagna was more than enough for a single person. My initial thoughts were, wow is this it? I'm going to need to order more! However, the sauce/gravy was super heavy and almost found myself wanting to take a break from eating. Pace yourself food is meant to be eaten over 60-90 minutes.

Superb meal. The corn-mushroom croquettes were amazing as well as the endive salad with feta, walnuts and pomegranate seeds. The leek and asparagus pastry was also wonderful. The tiramisu was a great finish. Muy Bueno.

After having many real good vegan experiences in Spain, i started thinking this was the norm, not so, i should have gotten a clue when asking which dishes in this supposedly vegetarian restaurant are vegan and confusion ensued with a manager from the back chiming in that some dishes only have a little milk. The salmorejo was alright, the roll a day old. The main dish, which they specially veganized for me was where things went south, first of the temperature of the different elements (rice, "roasted" variety of vegetables) varied greatly from hot to chilly, like inconsistencies when you warm up food in a microwave. The flavor was off, the falafel balls which replaced the cheeseballs were fried balls of yellow mush, the seitan was oily and also off. I always finish my food , no matter what, this time i didn't, I also wasnt sure of how truly vegan the kitchen was. Having lost confidence, especially after being offered the fruit cocktail with yogurt, I skipped the desert, and figured they can't mess up the coffee. Surprise, due to an apparent communication break down amongst the staff, and odd departures and arrivals of manager and staff members, when it finally arrived, even the café solo was bad. Short, just avoid this place.
